TREATS FOR TEENS
The Treats for Teens program aims to raise money to offer support, positive reinforcement, and recognition to disadvantaged teens, a demographic group often overlooked (particularly during holiday charitable giving). All administrative and promotional related costs are donated, 100 percent of funds raised go directly to the teens. As need as grown, the initiative has reached out to additional teens affiliated with Boys & Girls Clubs in Jefferson and Franklin Counties. This support and positive reinforcement is provided in the form of gift cards to local retail stores giving teens to ability to shop for what they need and the option to “pay it forward” and gift a love one. The gift cards are provided to teens who participate in local non-profit youth services organizations. In 2009, TFT hopes to provide $75 gift cards to 300+ teens during the holiday season. Additionally, RAHC hopes to broaden its reach with the Treats for Teens program to teens served through additional non-profit youth services organizations, such as local parks and recreation centers, and would like to expand the program to provide educational incentives to these teens year-round.
